How to Play
Every round shows a terrain map with region names and borders hidden and asks for one of two things.
Draw a region
Circle the land of the named country, state or prefecture. Lift your finger or release the mouse and the ring closes itself along the dashed line you see while drawing. The sea never counts, so you can draw loosely along the coast. For islands, draw another ring; rings are combined.
Draw a shared border
Draw the line between the two named neighbours. It may start and end anywhere, including out at sea or off the map, and you can draw it in several strokes. Only the land border is scored.
Controls
Phone and tablet
- One finger draws. Two fingers always pan and zoom, even while in draw mode.
- Draw / Move switches what one finger does.
- Undo removes the last stroke; Clear removes everything.
Mouse and trackpad
- Drag with the left button to draw. Hold Space and drag to move the map, or use the Draw / Move button.
- Scroll to zoom. The map does not rotate.
Submitting and the reveal
Press Submit when you are done. The real border appears as a dashed blue line. For regions, green is what you got right, orange what you missed and red what you drew outside. For borders, your own line is recoloured from green (on the border) through yellow to red (far away); grey parts were out at sea and did not count.
Today’s challenge and practice
The daily challenge has five rounds with 30 seconds each, counted from the moment the map has loaded. You get one attempt per day and the first result stands. Practice on any pack page is untimed and unlimited and never changes your daily score or streak.
Streaks and stars
Finishing the daily challenge on consecutive days builds a streak. Every seven days you earn a freeze (up to two) that covers one missed day automatically. Each region or border you play also collects stars: one for a best score of 60, two for 80, three for scoring 90 or more on two different days.
